Kodak Doubles Speed with New PROSPER S20 Imprinting System

Thursday 17. February 2011 - Solution brings full personalization to offset printing at production speeds

Designed to meet the needs of magazine, newspaper, and commercial insert printers with speeds matching those of web offset presses, the KODAK PROSPER S20 Imprinting System is the newest offering in the successful PROSPER S-Series.
“With the quality, productivity, and cost of offset, the PROSPER S20 Imprinting System adds the power of variable data to inline production and makes hybrid printing a reality for print and marketing service providers of all kinds,” says Vince Ferraro, Vice President of Marketing, Digital Print Solutions, Kodak. “The broad portfolio of digital printing solutions from Kodak gives customers the ability to pursue the opportunities that make the most sense for their businesses.”
Powered by KODAK Stream Inkjet Technology, the PROSPER S20 Imprinting System boasts a 4.16-inch imprinting width with speeds up to 2,000 fpm (600 mpm) at 600×300 dpi. The solution also is available as an upgrade to the PROSPER S10 Imprinting System.
The PROSPER S20 Imprinting System, which features pigment-based inks that deliver excellent permanence, rich blacks, and outstanding scratch- and water-resistance on a wide variety of commercial substrates, integrates easily with existing offset presses or finishing lines and enables new revenue opportunities. If total permanence is not a priority, dye-based inks are an alternative option to reduce total cost of ownership.
This innovative solution integrates easily into existing production processes, enabling full utilization of current equipment, while driving new advertising opportunities with highly targeted products, including: personalized, variable promotions by location; micro-promotions using geocoded maps; barcodes; coupons; and variable gaming and contests that can drive increased newsstand sales. Variable data promotions have proven to generate higher response rates, and print and marketing service providers now are able to improve return on marketing investment (ROMI) for their clients by employing hybrid printing solutions to deliver these targeted campaigns.
Available for immediate delivery, the PROSPER S20 Imprinting System can include up to 12 print stations and 24 printheads for maximum flexibility.
