Canon and Getty Images Gallery celebrate a new exhibition: “We Speak Image – A comment on the world by Canon Ambassadors”

Wednesday 16. February 2011 - Canon is proud to announce its sponsorship of a new exhibition at the Getty Images Gallery for Spring 2011. Entitled "We Speak Image - A comment on the world by Canon Ambassadors", it features a collection of favourite and recent work from the 12 Canon Ambassadors and continues the company's long-term relationship with the gallery.

The Canon Ambassador programme was established in 2008 with the intention of showcasing the wide and varied work of some of the world’s most celebrated photographers and the innovative work that can be produced on Canon DSLR cameras and lenses. All fifty images in the exhibition have been shot on professional EOS cameras and EF lenses.
The EOS System of DSLR cameras, lenses and accessories is the world’s most comprehensive photographic system for enthusiast and professional customers and has been designed to offer a choice of outstanding imaging solutions for photographers whatever the level of their ability.
“We Speak Image – A comment on the world by Canon Ambassadors” will give visitors the opportunity to see some of the most recent and favourite photographs taken by the Canon Ambassadors and learn about the story behind these images including the equipment which enabled them to capture their work.
Funny, moving, elegant, graceful and full of action, the spectrum of work on display has been assembled to engage and inspire visitors with an interest in photography and the world we live in. It features the work of sport, fashion, nature, portrait, wedding, society, and reportage photographers.
Kieran Magee, Professional Imaging Marketing Director says “As a global leader in imaging ‘We Speak Image’ has long been a philosophy embedded in everything that Canon does. With this exhibition we wanted to bring that statement to life, sharing our ethos with visitors as they view the pictures. The collection of images from our partners in the Ambassador programme truly demonstrate what inspirational commentary can be achieved through photography. I very much hope that visitors to the exhibition enjoy seeing this fine collection of work”.
The exhibition opens on February 14th and runs until 12th March and entrance is free.
