HP reaches milestone with over 100 HP Indigo presses now running in Israel
Thursday 03. February 2011 - HP today announced that it has reached a milestone of over 100 HP Indigo presses now running in Israel, with the 104th installation at Oniya Shapira of Asseret.
The company’s installation of an HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press, which joins a portfolio of six other Indigo w3250’s, will be instrumental in enabling it to maximise productivity for high volume transpromotional applications.
This installation reflects the trend in Israel to transition to high-end digital printing. This trend has accelerated over the past two years, with HP Indigo presses accounting for the major percentage of that growth.
In addition, HP Indigo customers in Israel continue to drive double digit page growth, with record figures received for page volume in October 2010. While the world economy continues to suffer, this trend is evidence of businesses and marketers utilising digital print to address their business needs – reduce run lengths, increase marketing campaign success, and reduce costs – resulting in many HP Indigo customers enjoying solid business growth.
“The printing industry in Israel is in transition from analogue to digital,” said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manger, Indigo Division, HP. “This is partly related to our technologically advanced and export oriented market economy which drives requirements for all forms of high quality printed media, from technical datasheets through brochures and financial documentation to labels. As a result, we have been able to install Indigo presses for a very broad range of applications and in companies that range from small printers to very large ones like Oniya Shapira, one of our top 10 customers in the world, as well as Tadbik, the largest label converter in Israel and Dfus Beeri the biggest transactional printer in the Middle East.”
As the founding base for Indigo technology, the Israeli printing market has been one of the catalysts for the success of the HP Indigo press series around the world.
“Due to the innovation and expertise of the local printers, we have been able to use local customers as the Beta sites for many of our newest products and solutions,” said Bar-Shany. “This has played a big part in our worldwide success, facilitated by a constant stream of customer and prospects from abroad that visit Israel each year to see these new products and solutions in action.”
The 100th operational press at C-Copy joins other significant milestones for Indigo technology, such as a TurboStream that has been active for over 13 years at Bidigital, and newer installations such as an HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press in Migvan, and our first HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press in Israel at Millenium in Haifa, installed in July 2010.
“For a small country, over 100 running presses is a fantastic milestone,” continued Bar-Shany. “We would like to thank all of our users, small and large, for their contribution to this milestone. They have not only embraced the opportunities offered by digital production with a host of creative applications but also provided the essential feedback which helped us break new ground. With their help, we have driven higher quality, greater personalisation and versioning, lower price-per-page and new levels of print flexibility,” Bar-Shany concluded.
