Océ in top 10 of transparent Dutch companies

Monday 31. January 2011 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that it has been included in the Top Ten Dutch companies in the annual Transparency Benchmark.

Transparency and CSR
The Transparency Benchmark is an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation to assess companies’ transparency in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The primary sources for this benchmark are the companies’ annual reports and sustainability reports.
Océ scores well on relevant criteria
In 2010, the Ministry reviewed the annual financial statements and sustainability reports of the 500 largest companies in The Netherlands. Criteria include CSR strategy, corporate governance and management approach, economic, social and environmental performance, relevance, reliability, and stakeholder engagement. Océ scored well on these criteria, rising to the 10th place of the 500 largest Dutch organizations assessed. Last year, Océ ended in the 11th position of the 183 companies that completed the Ministry’s self-assessment questionnaire, that addresses 50 specific criteria.
“Corporate social responsibility crucial to customer acceptance”, says Océ CEO
“We see corporate social responsibility assuming ever-increasing importance in the way our customers view our performance,” says Rokus van Iperen, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Océ. “We make every effort to ensure our reporting is as transparent as possible and are delighted that these efforts have been recognized in the ministry’s Transparency Benchmark.”
