Packer appointed to key operations role at technotrans
Monday 17. January 2011 - Stuart Packer has been appointed operations manager of technotrans bringing to the role experience in manufacturing, service and contract management and development.
“I believe technotrans can grow and expand its maintenance contracts and services. Engineers should be the eyes and ears of the company and have a role which complements the work of the sales staff. Sales and service must work closely together and our adoption of a SAP based administrative system will certainly underline that. Customers can expect an even better service because staff will have easy and full access to both sales and service records so will attend sites well informed and armed to solve any issues arising.”
The UK is the first technotrans subsidiary to adopt the SAP system which will be rolled out globally over time. It is going live this month.
Stuart Packer’s CV includes four years with OTR Tyres, a business that fits tyres to caterpillar trucks and other large vehicles, where he managed 40 tyre service engineers working out of nine depots and was responsible for putting in PDAs and a service management system. His last job before joining technotrans was with Glendale Managed Services, a tree surgery business, where he was regional director for operations. He has also had experience in water purification, RO and ion transfer with Elgar Process Water, held a planning role with Coca Cola and factory management roles in the chemical and healthcare industries.
Peter Benton, managing director, says: “Stuart brings fresh eyes, a different view and original and practical ideas. We undertook a rigorous selection process involving an outside assessor, psychometric and verbal reasoning testing. He did well in the tests and when we met I knew he would fit well with the team and would deliver to customers what he promises.”
technotrans has also announced the appointment of Suzanne Russell as financial controller. Suzanne has had 12 years experience in accounting practice and nine years in industry.
“technotrans provides a new challenge. It’s a great company but there are procedural enhancements we can and are adopting as we implement the integrated computer system,” she says.
When not at work, Suzanne enjoys sport and trips to the gym.
