Screen to unveil ultra high-speed colour Truepress Jet520ZZ and PDF/VT ready EQUIOS workflow at the Hunkeler Innovationdays

January 2011 - Screen, the print on demand and imaging specialist, will unveil the top of the range, ultra high-throughput colour Truepress Jet520ZZ web-fed inkjet printer for the first time in Europe at the Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne (14-17 February 2011 on stand S04). At the event Screen will announce Europe's first installation of this innovative printer.

Also making its debut is the innovative PDF/VT-ready Screen EQUIOS workflow specifically designed to optimise the production capabilities of the Truepress Jet520 for high-speed variable data including books, transpromo, manuals, brochures and newspapers. Based on Adobe PDF Print Engine 2, EQUIOS enables the system to drive colour content and design-rich variable data very efficiently and will be compatible with PDF/VT-based VDP applications as they come to market.
The Truepress Jet520 is the world’s most successful continuous-feed colour inkjet printer with over 250 machines in production worldwide today. Using the latest Epson inkjet heads, the new Truepress Jet520ZZ is capable of high quality, variable colour printing on 520mm paper width* at 220 m/min, equivalent to 173,280 A4 pages per hour. The press has been developed to meet the growing demand for a wide variety of quality, value-added personalised printed products. The ultra high-productivity system is targeted at very high-volume transactional, direct mail, newspaper and book printing operations.
Visitors to the Hunkeler Innovationdays will see the Truepress Jet520ZZ printing at the full speed of 220m and producing a mixture of educational books, with coloured text, photographs, illustrations and tinted panels as well as examples of transpromo and direct mail applications.
