Mitsubishi Broadens In-Country Service Support for Indian Printers

Thursday 30. December 2010 - Earlier this year, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries India (MHII) established an internal division within its New Delhi Head Office to deal exclusively with the needs and concerns of the Indian commercial printing and packaging markets. In line with this expansion, MHII recently announced the in-country arrival of Hiroto Sakamoto to oversee service operations at its Printing & Packaging Division (PPD).

Service General Manager Sakamoto brings to India more than 20 years of extensive service in all facets of sheet-fed press operations. Prior to this assignment, Sakamoto served as in-house engineer at MLP U.S.A. – Mitsubishi’s North America sales and service branch – from 1997 to 2000. Over the course of his three-year assignment within the U.S., Sakamoto not only gained a wider insight into the specific demands of this diversified market, he was also able to broaden his communications skills through day-to-day dealings with customers.
With many older used presses already in operation within India and the increasing number of new presses installed, Sakamoto’s primary role will be to ensure that all Mitsubishi press users are able to minimize their cost of ownership into the future through stabilized press operations and enhanced press performance. Working in close cooperation with Proteck Machinery’s service engineers located throughout India, Sakamoto will provide technical support through spare parts supply, preventive maintenance guidelines, press improvement advice, and instruction and training on?means for increasing press productivity.
Mitsubishi has long recognized the importance of the India market, and with Sakamoto now onboard will be better positioned to provide Indian printers a quicker response on technically intricate matters as they arise. Customer feedback is also expected to serve as a valuable tool in Mitsubishi’s future press development plans as the company continues to strive for further advancements of the Indian commercial, publication and packaging industry.
