Kodak to showcase innovative print solutions at Gulf Print & Pack
Friday 17. December 2010 - Print service providers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will discover how to improve the performance of their set-ups, stretch margins and ensure more eco-friendly production during Gulf Print & Pack by visiting the Kodak stand at the show.
The company will run live demonstrations of a variety of its latest print innovations and will have a lot of solutions on display, including the KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press, the KODAK FLEXCEL NX Digital Flexographic System, the KODAK TRENDSETTER 400 IV QUANTUM Platesetter (in combination with KODAK PRINERGY EVO Software) and KODAK TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plates.
Gulf Print & Pack takes place next year in Dubai from 14 to 17 March and is a must-attend event for commercial and packaging printers in the MENA region. Delegates will see live demonstrations of the latest systems and materials, and learn about global printing and packaging trends and technologies. The event is also an excellent opportunity for delegates to network and meet with industry experts.
There will be a number of KODAK Solutions on show at Gulf Print & Pack 2011, which include:
KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press with KODAK NEXGLOSSER Solution – delivers outstanding quality, speed and flexibility. The KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit lets users create a range of high-value products, helping them to expand their portfolio and increase revenue. Dimensional Printing, for example, lets users add a unique ‘raised’ 3D effect to images. The Fifth Imaging Unit can also be used to produce spot colors, watermarking, MICR secure printing, and protective coatings.
KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System (with laminator and samples) – creates a predictable and reliable manufacturing process that automates steps, reduces errors and streamlines operations. Offers specialist packaging prepress tools needed to build and preflight packaging files. Also includes a job management feature to track jobs from receipt of files through to proofing, approval and platemaking.
KODAK INSITE Prepress Portal System – a web portal into the KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System. It streamlines job submission, job status tracking, and remote content proofing or approval.
KODAK FLEXCEL NX Digital Flexographic System – the 2008 PIA/GATF InterTech award winning KODAK FLEXCEL NX Digital Flexographic System provides previously unachievable offset class, gravure quality printing on a wide variety of substrates, including paper, flexible film, foil, and label stock. The system can reproduce highlight dots considerably smaller than those possible with other digital flexo technologies, allowing printers to reproduce on press subtle gradations in highlights and use all levels of grey.
KODAK TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plates – can endure the most challenging press conditions and be used with a variety of challenging substrates. Using the same plate for many different applications makes the pressman’s job easier, saves time on press, and simplifies the prepress operation. And the plate’s long run lengths help increase productivity, plus they reduce costs and job complexity by eliminating the need for baking. The plate also helps printers reduce waste during makeready. The long run lengths and chemical durability reduce the cost, time and waste associated with re-plating a job mid-run.
Arif Khan, Area Manager, Kodak Near East, comments: “Gulf Print & Pack is one of our highlights of the print calendar. It enables print professionals from across the MENA region to meet industry experts and see the latest innovations in action. The expectations of print customers in the burgeoning MENA market are rising all the time. Kodak sees the MENA region as a key growth market and the team is therefore looking forward to showing delegates Kodak’s comprehensive range of technologies, so they can see firsthand how they can improve their print environments and meet their customers’ demands. We’re inviting all attendees to enjoy the Kodak hospitality at the booth and learn how the Kodak cooperation and digital printing solutions can generate new revenue opportunities.”
Lina Alousta, Show Director, Gulf Print & Pack, adds: “We are delighted that Kodak has come on board and will be exhibiting at the show next year. Dubai is the perfect location for the commercial and package printing businesses to network together and generate new business in the Middle East region and Kodak will benefit greatly from having such a big presence at the show. The event will provide a recognized platform for sales and new leads, whilst a strong educational influence during the show will offer up-to-date information and the opportunity to share ideas. We are looking forward to welcoming the industry to Gulf Print & Pack in March.”
