EMBALLAGE 2010: Exhibition dynamics and business climate confirm upturn in packaging-related industries
Thursday 16. December 2010 - With 1,295 exhibitors + 500 represented brands, and the attendance of 85,372 professionals1 over the four days, the international packaging exhibition EMBALLAGE, which was held at Paris Nord Villepinte from November 22nd-25th, reflected the restored dynamism of the packaging-related industries.
Like several other surveys conducted over the last few months (Geppia, Symop), Observatoire de l’Emballage 2010 predicted that growth and business confidence were back. This prospect materialized at the exhibition: 70% of the visitors were decision-makers who were often already involved in concrete investment projects and solution purchasing projects, which is a sign of business recovery after two years of difficult economic situation.
Exhibitors’ opinions …
« We are very satisfied. Visitors packed our stand during the four days: customers and prospects who came with real needs. Brand managers from leading groups were there again looking out for the latest innovations … ». VG EMBALLAGE – Alain Trophardy (France)
« A very good edition, we have been exhibitors for the last 25 years and, compared to 2008, this edition is the climax of a successful year 2010 (increased number of visitors and investment projects)…. We have noted a 30% increase in new contacts over the quotas that we had set before the exhibition … which foreshadows a very good year 2011 for us ».
ESKO ARTWORK – Olivier Moeyersoms (Belgium)
« Customers showed great dynamism with more concrete demands… It is important for us to be present at Emballage to enhance our corporate reputation on an international platform. The exhibition is a good way for us to strengthen customer relationships. A better edition than two years ago. ».
ALPMA – Dominique Pouy (France)
« It was an excellent exhibition with strong attendance. The four-day schedule instead of five days brought more visitors together at the same time, and they sometimes had to queue to meet us. This year, the decision-makers came to visit the show. ». CAMPAK – M.T. Kabrit (France)
1 figure to be compared to 86,730 visitors in 2008 = attendance at EMBALLAGE + IPA 2008 after deducting the number of visitors who only visited IPA (process).

In Paris and nowhere else!
According to Véronique Sestrières, Exhibition Director: « The latest edition of EMBALLAGE confirms that Paris is an important international business place for the packaging-related industries. All ingredients were gathered to ensure the success of this biennial event: A complete offering showing a wide range of machines in operation based on an appropriate sectorization, high-quality visitors looking for solutions, and a great number of special events staged over the four days. Last but not least, the real plus offered by the synergetic co-location with the exhibition MANUTENTION, which allowed to present complementary intralogistics solutions to our visitors. »
« Very well organized; high-level visitorship both in terms of quantity and quality. ».
GOGLIO- Laura Riva (Italy)

Comexposium did a real good job to give a new boost to the exhibition and turn it into what it should actually be: a world packaging marketplace … I made a bet on Paris with my other international divisions, and I won it! ».
