LANXESS increases prices for ion exchange resins
Wednesday 15. December 2010 - Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is to increase its prices worldwide for ion exchange resins with immediate effect as a result of the continued high costs of raw materials and higher energy and transportation expenses.
According to Peter Steglich, head of Marketing in LANXESS’ Ion Exchange Resins business unit, prices for Lewatit and Ionac products will rise by up to 12 percent in Europe, the United States and Japan and by up to 15 percent in all other regions – depending on the energy and raw material requirement in the manufacture of the grade concerned and on logistic costs.
The premium products of the Ion Exchange Resins business unit play an important role in industrial water treatment, food processing, the purification of water and manufacture of ultrapure water and the remediation of contaminated areas, such as those with a high arsenic content. Detailed information on LANXESS’ ion exchange resin range can be found at www.lewatit.com.
The Ion Exchange Resins business unit is part of LANXESS’ Performance Chemicals segment, which achieved total sales of EUR 1,530 million in 2009.
