3M Begins Market Purchases in Switzerland of Shares in Winterthur Technologies AG

Wednesday 08. December 2010 - In connection with its previously announced agreement to acquire Winterthur Technologies AG ("Winterthur") pursuant to a public tender offer, 3M noted that, to the extent permissible under applicable law or regulation, 3M, its affiliates or brokers (acting as agents for 3M or its affiliates) may from time to time directly or indirectly purchase shares of Winterthur other than pursuant to such tender offer. 3M has begun to purchase shares of Winterthur in the public trading markets in Switzerland.
