DELPHAX REPORTS SALE OF CR SERIES SYSTEM TO INKRIPT GROUP

Wednesday 01. December 2010 - Beirut-based printer launches high-speed digital book-production line

Delphax Technologies Inc., a global provider of high-speed digital printing systems, announced the sale of a complete CR Series system to the Inkript Group for the production of books and other industry related documents in Lebanon. Inkript, a major security printer and provider of smartcard technology, is based in Beirut, Lebanon.

“This is the first venture in the Middle East for this type of high speed digital continuous roll-fed book production system, and both Inkript and Delphax look forward to its success in the developing marketplace in this region,” said Steve Hubbard, general manager of Delphax’s U.K. subsidiary, Delphax Technologies Ltd.

Inkript will use the system to produce a variety of books and other documents, integrating customized binding equipment and other specialized finishing solutions. The Delphax press was selected because of its high productivity and economy of operation—advantages that translate into relatively low cost of ownership. Because of its digital technology, the press permits more economical production than traditional litho based presses, especially in short-run production.

Delphax’s CR Series offers the fastest toner-based digital printers in the world, capable of turning a roll of paper into finished books in a fully integrated, continuous process. The fastest of the CR Series presses can produce high-quality 200-page books at the rate of one every three seconds, sustaining continuous running speeds of 500 feet (more than 150 meters) per minute.

Inkript has combined a long tradition of excellence in the high security printing field with innovations in smartcard-based solutions. Its portfolio of customers in over 25 countries includes banks, governmental agencies, telecom companies and other business institutions.
