Ricoh UK bolsters large format printer portfolio through colour partnership with Epson

Tuesday 30. November 2010 - Ricoh UK today announces a large format colour printing partnership with Epson Europe. The partnership will see Ricoh providing Epson's large format colour printers - the Stylus Pro 9700 (44-inch) and Stylus Pro 7700 (24-inch) - to new and existing customers in the architectural and CAD markets.

The agreement complements Ricoh’s existing black and white large format product portfolio, and Epson machines sold by Ricoh will qualify for Ricoh’s extensive customer service and support package.
Gareth Parker, product manager, Ricoh UK comments: “Ricoh is dedicated to meeting its customers’ requirements, and by working with best-in-class partners who share the same customer and business ethos, we can ensure we meet those needs with the right products and services. Ricoh has a strong heritage in the technical marketplace and Epson brings a leading graphics and colour presence to our black and white offering for the architectural and CAD sectors, and in doing so broadens its technical market reach. Ricoh is a market leader in providing black and white machines to the architectural and CAD sectors and the Epson partnership enables Ricoh to build on this reputation and support customers migrating to or replacing existing large format colour devices.”
Mr. Parker continues: “Traditionally, companies within the architectural and CAD market tend to require a black and white device, a colour scanner and a colour machine, however, Ricoh’s black and white devices incorporate colour scanning, and now with the Epson agreement in place, Ricoh can meet three customer requirements in just two solutions. At Ricoh it’s about adding value and helping our customers achieve the best approach, as well as reducing machine costs.”
Although the Stylus Pro 9700 and 7700 machines will be predominately targeted at the technical drawing and CAD marketplace to produce maps, drawings and lines etc. the quality of output means they also bridge the gap between a company’s technical and marcomms requirements. Mr. Parker explains: “The Epson machines enable organisations to produce technical work, but also take advantage of producing in-house marketing literature such as posters and other point of sale material. The multifunctional nature of the machines means businesses can maximise their investment and save costs when it comes to outsourcing certain print requirements.”
The Stylus Pro machines are easy-to-use, paper change is straight forward and inks easy to replace. Ricoh Suppliers will provide Epson approved paper and ink, and servicing and additional parts can be covered by a Ricoh service agreement.
