96-page LITHOMAN S for Rotooffset

Wednesday 24. November 2010 - TSB Group gears up for insert business: manroland in XXL format

Following the first sale in July, manroland is very pleased about gaining a second customer for a 96-page LITHOMAN – the TSB Group in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The company is expanding the capacity of its print services provider Rotooffset at Unterkaka near Leipzig.
The LITHOMAN will mainly print inserts for the retail trade. So far Rotooffset has one 80-page and two 48-page web offset presses. Next year Rotooffset will boost its capacity with 4.32 million pages per hour. This leap in performance has been well prepared for: 90 percent of the world’s installed base of presses with a web width of more than two meters have been developed and built by manroland. The new benchmark is 2.86 meters.
“Our customers will benefit most of all from our close cooperation with manroland because with the 96-page LITHOMAN S we can continue to provide them with the highest level of quality, flexibility and efficiency”, says Managing Director Dr. Udo Bogner. “This investment enables us to produce the widest variety of print products very efficiently. We save time and can also print new types of jobs and different paginations that were previously not feasible.” The LITHOMAN S is equipped with one reel splicer, four blanket-to-blanket printing units and two folders, which permits manufacturing of products with a high number of multiple-up images.
TSB is one of Europe’s leading printing groups and has its headquarters in Mönchengladbach and production sites in Oberschleißheim near Munich, Unterkaka near Leipzig, and Alba in Italy. TSB belongs to the Bagel Group, which has been family-owned since 1801 and presently employs more than 1,600 people, with around 120 in Unterkaka. Technical Director Markus Permesang is responsible for the entire project. In 2010, TSB received the European Publication Gravure Award from the ERA (European Rotogravure Association).
Thanks to the close cooperation with manroland’s Sales & Service Partner in Mönchengladbach, the negotiations were concluded quickly and in a goal-oriented manner. “That is the advantage of a close, well developed and trustful cooperation which manroland and the Steuber company have cultivated over many years”, says Peter Kuisle, Executive Vice President for Webfed Printing System Sales at manroland. Founded in 1930, the Heinrich Steuber company is the oldest manroland Sales & Service Partner in the world. Today Steuber has 90 employees, which makes it the largest system house in North Rhine-Westphalia.
