LFP - Large-Format-Printing
The Dutch company Gielen Reclame is a loyal Roland user
Tuesday 23. November 2010 - Chris Gielen bought his first Roland DG cutter 25 years ago. Today, he owns five Roland machines: two printers, two combined printers/cutters and one cutting plotter. Chris Gielen remained loyal to Roland because of the excellent print quality and the high reliability of the machines. "It's for us extremely important that we can keep producing continuously without problems. That's why we choose for Roland."
25 years ago, Chris Gielen started making letterings for cars in his garage. At that time, he combined this work with his job in a printing office. Gielen combined these two jobs for 10 years. Then he decided to focus exclusively on his own company, which was beginning to become a success. He bought his first printer and he gained a lot of customers. Then, Gielen set up a collaboration with one of his good clients, called Levanto. Today, the two are still working together.
Chris Gielen explains: “Levanto is a sort of sales representative for us. They attract big accounts and projects. We take care of the production. Together, we have various large store chains amongst our customers. Furthermore, we at Gielen Reclame have a lot of local clients. We regularly make designs for these clients since they don’t always collaborate with an advertising or design agency.”
Gielen Reclame mainly makes indoor and outdoor full colour prints. Most of their clients are companies and people related to motorsports. Their clients are mostly located in The Netherlands, but Gielen Reclame also has some clients abroad. They once made letterings of 7.m high by 100m wide for a German company. They did this with a 1.2m wide cutter. Chris Gielen says: “This was a matter of prestige for us and we are very glad with the result. It gives a kick when you have a big project and the client is satisfied with your work. We once had to change the branding of 540 stores in two months. It was a real challenge for us to get this done in time.”
Gielen Reclame is a company that takes the time to inform its clients well. They want to build up a long-term relationship with them. They deliver quality prints and take care of the application and assembly. Therefore, they work with thirty independent mechanics from all over The Netherlands.
