Early adopter of workflow upgrades to next level
Tuesday 23. November 2010 - Edinburgh 24 hour quality printer Allander is upgrading its workflow to Prinect 10 standard. It was an early adopter of Prepress Manager and Pressroom Manager and is keen to retain the edge that these links bring in terms of rapid set up times, minimal waste and, in combination with Image Control, first rate closed loop colour management.
Over the coming weeks the company will undertake Heidelbergs ISO 12647 certification for printing and proofing, a means of showing customers that it is operating to truly top rate colour.
Joint managing director Alan Walker says: “Our clients know they can trust us to provide the most advanced technologies and equipment, can seek advice from us on the best solutions to give their products the optimum look and feel. Quality can be a key differentiator in todays market and for us its important to attain and maintain consistent colour throughout the run and from job to job. We believe that the introduction of ISO 12647 in the UK will mean even more customers demanding provable colour control as a prerequisite to placing work.”
Allander supplies a range of general commercial work for print management companies, designers, agencies, universities and educational bodies and a variety of other businesses. It can handle full colour brochures, books, Report & Accounts and magazines.
“Our experience with Heidelbergs Prinect workflow packages has been good. They are easy to use and make a really significant difference in reducing our machine downtime and waste. It eliminates communication errors, too. Surviving and growing in the print business in todays climate means you must run with maximum efficiency and having a software contract with Heidelberg means we benefit from the latest upgrades and remain ahead of the pack,” says Mr Walker.
