Kodak Demonstrates Digital Records Management and Preservation Solutions at ARMA 2010

Monday 15. November 2010 - Visitors to Kodak’s (#518) booth at the 2010 ARMA International Conference & Expo will see the latest document imaging technologies for the records management, archive and preservation industries. Hands-on demonstrations with Kodak will help customers learn about solutions that make digital records more searchable, retrievable and usable for long-term use in corporate governance, records information management (RIM), customer relationship management (CRM), IT and into the cloud.

At ARMA 2010, Kodak offers attendees new insights into simplifying the records management process. With a strong legacy in imaging, micrographics and preservation, complemented by a powerful portfolio of software, hardware, services and integrated solutions, Kodak offers numerous choices for managing critical documents, particularly through MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server integration.

“This year’s ARMA Conference & Expo focuses on the theme of ‘real’ solutions, which help records management professionals to better automate their data,” said Mark Neff, Director of Marketing, US&C, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Kodak recognizes the need to demonstrate document imaging solutions that help to further advance the process of digital records management. Whether the business need is archive and preservation through micrographics, or providing instant user access to accounts payable or billing systems through SHAREPOINT Server, it’s important to help customers understand the value in using choices to build a more strategic solution for managing information.”

Demonstrating a number of “real” customer solutions at ARMA, Kodak will showcase the high-speed scanning of the KODAK i1320 Plus Series Scanner with 5280 Solution’s DYNAMIC FILER Software. A KM World “Trend-Setting Product of 2009,” DYNAMIC FILER Software automates the process of scan-to-file into SHAREPOINT Server and other common business applications. Using the i1320 Plus Scanner, users can easily transition paper-based images of most sizes into SHAREPOINT Server and other common Web destinations, including Gmail, Yahoo! and Hotmail.

“The ability to easily integrate and share information across an organization, regardless of size, has become more important than ever for records management professionals across many industries,” said Troy Kloberdanz, Vice President of Business Development, 5280 Solutions LLC. “We work collaboratively with Kodak to drive the benefits of automated capture solutions using specific applications that streamline integration into SHAREPOINT Server.”

The power of one-touch network scanning will also be unveiled by Kodak at ARMA 2010. Image Access, a member of the KODAK Authorized Imaging Reseller Program, will demonstrate the new KODAK Scan Station Pro 550, with advanced data capture features modeled after KODAK Capture Pro Software. The compact scanner, equipped with an intuitive GUI touch panel, enhances direct connectivity into many third-party, transactions-based software systems. Professionals in the healthcare, legal, insurance and restaurant industries can receive many sophisticated imaging capabilities, including barcodes, OCR, MICR and others.

Booth #518 will also feature the KODAK i4600 Scanner with KODAK Capture Pro Software. With production-level entry point speeds of 120 pages per minute (ppm) in bi-tonal scanning quality, the compact, ergonomically-friendly scanner is among the smallest scanner in its class to offer a c-shape transport with an additional straight-through paper-path that accommodates a wide range of documents. Kodak’s Smart Touch feature enables users to seamlessly send electronic documents to common destinations including email, desktop applications, shared files and MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server.

In addition to its suite of hardware and software solutions at ARMA, Kodak will also have its Preservation Solutions & Services Agents on-hand at booth #518. Representatives will discuss how Kodak’s Capture Systems and Preservations Platforms help businesses to preserve and maintain data within a secure digital setting.

“Kodak’s strategic work with its channel partners helps businesses to identify new and valuable ways to obtain better access to critical information,” said Robert Breslawski, IMAGELINK Media and Equipment Portfolio Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Kodak provides a broad portfolio of choices for records management professionals in both document imaging and digital- and film-based archiving. These leaders can use this technology to simplify the process of converting paper into digital information. Whether overseeing an audit, or using data to better understand a client, it’s imperative for today’s businesses to think about smart, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions that advance their organization’s records management strategy for the long term.”
