Glasgow goes arty in 2011 on LumiArt

Thursday 11. November 2010 - Donald Murray Paper is supplying 5,000 sheets of LumiArt to produce the Glasgow School Calendar 2011 featuring the best of school age children’s artwork produced within the city’s schools.

Now in its 15th year, the competition to secure a “month” in the new calendar attracted 1,400 entries from Glasgow schools covering a wide range of ages and abilities. The 50 short-listed were then judged by a team led by Bailie Jean McFadden, executive member for education services.
“Each year I see this calendar and not only feel uplifted by the colourfulness and impact but also by the feeling that the future of creativity and innovation is guaranteed. There really is a lot of talent out there and we are very pleased to support it,” says Alistair MacDonald, regional managing director of Donald Murray Paper.
Some 13 pupils were selected for a front cover and each of the 12 months. The 150gsm LumiArt high quality paper will be used to produce 10,000 copies of the calendar which will be printed and distributed to schools. libraries and council offices throughout the city.
