Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of document driven business process automation solutions, today announced the release of Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) Elite, a new version of Kofaxs patented image enhancement and perfection software. Kofax VRS Elite offers enhanced scanning functionality that improves the solutions overall performance, device health monitoring capabilities and the ability to support enterprise capture deployments.

VRS Elite reduces the time involved in manual document preparation and enhances the quality of scanned images, dramatically improving both manual scanning productivity and the efficiency of document capture processes. As the de facto industry standard for image enhancement software, Kofax VRS has more than 2 million licenses actively in use today. Kofax VRS and Kofax VRS Elite integrate with more than 200 of todays leading digital scanners and deliver optimized, process-ready images to any application, including the companys market leading Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules software.

The new features of Kofax VRS Elite include:
Centralized Licensing: Provides centralized administrative control over the distribution, installation and activation of Kofax VRS Elite licenses, making it easier and less costly to support enterprise capture deployments involving larger numbers of digital scanners.
Device Health Monitoring: Allows for the monitoring of the operating condition of local or remote digital scanners, and proactively alerts users to the existence of potential issues that can affect image quality or scanner performance, helping to avert service problems before they generate delays or additional costs.
Automatic Profile Management: Reduces scanning problems by automatically creating a profile for a documents specific characteristics and applying it to the image enhancement process. This accelerates scanning operations and provides more consistent image quality, offering optimal straight through processing for maximized system performance.
New and Updated Algorithms: Improves image perfection with the addition of new and updated algorithms, increasing VRS Elites ability to capture the widest range of documents.
