Fifth Balkan Print Forum meeting: premium printing for high impact and good achievements

The next Balkan Print Forum will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, on 20-21 October 2011.

Monday 01. November 2010 - More than 200 participants from 14 countries in Budapest

Gerd Finkbeiner, co-founder and supporter of the Balkan Print Forum initiative, emphasized: “The topic of the Forum is a very good fit to the present state of the industry and to the present challenges and opportunities. The future proof of the printing industry clearly lies in its technological competence and in the product competitiveness and innovation.”

The new technological applications in value added printing must be a strong commitment to make books, newspapers, magazines and packaging to stand out in its quality, in its glossy appearance, in its attractiveness. Today and in the future this industry needs more joint developments in products and services.

Attending the event were managers and members of the National Printers Federations, of the Graphic Arts Schools and Universities, of the trade press of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Turkey; manroland customers; as well as representatives of Intergraf, of the Forum sponsors and supporters; guests from the National Printers Federations and Graphic Arts Universities of Russia and Ukraine. Speakers from manroland, Muller Martini, Leonhard Kurz, Océ Printing Systems, Béta-Roll Hengergumizo and Infopress Group Hungary presented groundbreaking information about premium printing for high impact and good achievements.

Thomas Hauser, manroland, Jan Lindström, UPM, and István Kása, Kner Printing House, participated in the discussion panel “Good Achievements in Packaging Printing”. They talked about the success formula for packaging printers, how can the press and the paper manufacturer support printers in order to generate more value for every job.

The participants had the opportunity to visit the printing house MoD Mapping Company. Founded in 1919 as an Hungarian military mapping organization, today it carries out the primary responsibility to produce mapping materials for the Hungarian Defense Forces. The map printing is performed on one 4- and one 6-color manroland press respectively. László Németh, Managing Director, and László Buga, Technical Manager, as well as some other stuff members warmly welcomed the guests. The visitors had a short presentation and a very interesting tour around the printing house.
