Metso to deliver engineered valves for UAE liquefied natural gas plant

Friday 29. October 2010 - Metso has signed an agreement with South Korean based GS Engineering and Construction Company for the supply of cryogenic and sequence valves.

The valves are for a GASCO-operated liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant located at Ruwais, United Arab Emirates and constructed by GS Engineering and Construction Company. The order is based on Metso’s business partnership with GASCO as well as proven high-level product quality and service.

The value of the order is about EUR 6 million, and the order is included in Energy and Environmental Technology´s Q3 orders received.

Metso is the technology leader in cryogenic valves which can be operated in extremely low temperatures. In Metso’s test laboratory valve performance can be tested in liquid nitrogen at -196 Celsius degrees.

GASCO operates LNG extraction plants and gas plants. It is owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (68%), Shell (15%), Total (15%) and Partex (2%).
