Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced the availability of the KIP 700 and KIP 7100 Wide Format Multifunction Systems, the latest additions to the next-generation of Wide Format Production Print Systems from KIP America (KIP), a leading manufacturer of wide-format printing and imaging technology.
KIP 700 – Precision Imaging
The KIP 700 is the highest-value, lowest-cost wide format multifunction system available today. It sets new standards for professional quality results, and offers users an exceptional multifunction wide format system with integrated touch screen controls. Its single footprint, space-saving-console design produces prints up to 3 ‘D’ size prints per minute. The KIP 700 boasts sophisticated features previously found only in high-end multifunction systems, and addresses the entry-level market space once dominated by inkjet products, which are slow and have a high cost per square foot. Its compact design provides front access to the touchscreen, auto roll paper loading, system operation and copy/print delivery.
The KIP 700 offers users a wide variety of features at a low-entry level price point, including the powerful KIP 7.2 Print management, integrated USB, optional color scan to file and color copy to inkjets, all in an easy-to-use device. The device was designed to meet the wide format needs for industries that require large amounts of printing of half-size drawings architects, engineers, construction, government, utilities and municipalities, and many other businesses.
KIP 7100 – Professional Quality
The KIP 7100 system is powered by KIP total print management software for superior productivity and the tightest possible integration with existing network infrastructures, making it a complete communications hub. The ability to communicate with inkjet printers and remote workstations increases performance and provides the power to execute simultaneous copying, printing, and scanning tasks to support multiple users in busy workgroup environments. The system meets strict security guidelines while offering an integrated web server, on-screen system and operator guides, and print management applications. In addition, an integrated USB port provides convenient access to files stored on USB drives for instant viewing and printing. Originals may be scanned directly to a USB drive in a variety of file types, including multipage PDF, TIF and DWF formats.
The KIP 7100 was designed to meet the needs of the decentralized workgroup environment. Its advanced features and simple operation deliver unequaled wide format performance. With the unique ability to expand production capacity with software based user controls and optional print stacking/folding accessories, the KIP 7100 has great application in a very wide market space. The KIP 7100 is ideal for printing environments where peak demands and timelines for set distribution are critical.
“The new KIP wide format multifunction systems are hitting the market at an opportune time while setting new standards for professional quality results,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. “Because of the devices’ superior functionality and image control, we are able to meet the needs of decentralized workgroups across a wide variety of industries.”
