White Paper Analyzes Newly Expanded Screen Truepress Jet520 Platform

Thursday 07. October 2010 - A timely and informative analysis of the Screen Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press portfolio is available at the Screen (USA) website at www.screenusa.com.

The white paper, entitled “Screen Expands Truepress Jet520 Family,” examines the increased level of choice now to be found in Screen’s Truepress Jet520 product line. Drawing on the expertise of the market research and strategic consulting firm InfoTrends, the report covers a wide spectrum of options and opportunities available to printing companies as the result of the three distinct platforms within the Truepress Jet520 series.

“Improved speed, productivity, image area and the ability to print on coated paper are key reasons why print service providers should have a renewed look at the Truepress Jet520 offerings to see how these announcements impact their ability to print their target applications,” the report concludes.

The Truepress Jet520 became commercially available in 2006. More than 200 presses have been installed worldwide.

At Graph Expo 2010 in Chicago, the entry-level Truepress Jet520EX and high-end Truepress Jet520ZZ joined the existing Truepress Jet520 full-color variable printing system. The Truepress Jet520EX is available in monochrome through four-color configurations. The Truepress Jet520ZZ adds faster speeds and wider web capability to the product line.

In addition to pointing out differences between the technologies, the white paper assesses the strengths and market challenges. It also includes an overview of the EQUIOS workflow solution and other products in Screen’s technology portfolio.

Among the report’s other conclusions: “The expansion of the Truepress Jet520 product family is another example of how Screen has evolved the company and taken a new focus that builds on inkjet technology. [T]hey have made a remarkable transition with the development of new inkjet products, and, in the case of the Truepress Jet520 … expanded their market reach beyond commercial print markets, their traditional stronghold.”
