Agfa Graphics to Launch New :Apogee 7 Workflow Suite at GRAPH EXPO 2010

Friday 01. October 2010 - Imposition and print buyer tools among additions to newest version of Agfa's award-winning workflow management software

Agfa Graphics announced today that :Apogee 7, the new version of Agfa’s :Apogee workflow management suite, is available for live demonstrations at GRAPH EXPO 2010. Agfa’s solutions can be found in booths #2611 and #844.

The newest version of the award-winning :Apogee workflow management suite includes :Apogee Impose, an imposition module that relies on live job information rather than templates to perform imposition. Additionally, :Apogee 7 allows print buyers to go beyond the web-to-print screen to create new jobs in the prepress stage with WebApproval.

:Apogee 7 also includes :Apogee Portal 7, the latest version of Agfa’s popular portal for file uploading, preflighting and softproofing that provides advanced functionality for user convenience and automation. Each upgrade contained in the new :Apogee 7 is aimed at making everyone involved in the print production process – from designers to print buyers to the production team – be more productive and responsive to their customers.

“Software can be the most critical aspect of a printer’s day. It touches everything that a printer does, from creating content, keeping an eye on hardware and maintaining communication with the client,” said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Graphics, North America. “Agfa consults with printers to make sure the software we create is a helpful tool, not a burden that must be wrestled with. Agfa’s :Apogee 7 can enhance printers’ capabilities, making them more efficient, more productive and therefore, potentially more profitable.”

Other tools included in Agfa’s :Apogee 7 are :Apogee Prepress, a full JDF-enabled prepress production hub that provides increased levels of automation throughout the production environment, :Apogee InkSave for increased ink efficiency and cost savings, and :Apogee Platemaker, which monitors and controls an organization’s platesetters, for continuous plate production.

:Apogee Vibe, the engine behind Agfa’s digital presses, :M-Press TIGER and :Dotrix Modular will also be on hand. :Apogee Vibe provides high-end industrial printers with the automation and personalization tools needed in today’s competitive market place.

GRAPH EXPO is being held October 3rd through the 6th at Chicago’s McCormick Place South. At GRAPH EXPO, Agfa’s solutions will be in two booths: inkjet solutions are the focus of booth #844 while press and pre-press solutions are the theme for Agfa’s booth #2611
