Ricoh UK customers to receive free trial of NowPrint web-to-print solution

Tuesday 07. September 2010 - Ricoh UK is launching a 60 day free trial of NowPrint, its scalable web-to-print solution , provided via a ‘software as a service’ (SaaS) model. The solution is available with immediate effect in the UK and the free trial available to all members of Ricoh UK’s Business Driver Programme .

NowPrint , Ricoh’s new web-to-print solution uses a hosted web-to-print model that enables print service providers to securely access information via a web browser, without the need for an on-site server. It is an extremely cost-effective, easy-to-use option for businesses and makes it an easy choice to expand business opportunities via web-to-print. It is simple to set up and print service providers can begin receiving orders immediately.

Says Stephen Palmer, Production Print Director, Ricoh UK: “The 60 day trial is giving printers a risk-free opportunity to explore the considerable benefits web-to-print can bring to a print business – including greater traction with customers and 24 hour uptime for orders. However, we recognise not all printers have the resources – financial or otherwise – to integrate a full in-house web-to-print solution.

“As NowPrint works on a remote ASP model, it offers a low cost, low risk, scalable solution that will fit the needs of the printer and then grow as the business grows. We invite all Ricoh production customers to take up this 60 day free trial and discover the real impact a robust, low cost web-to-print solution can have on their business.”

Upgrade paths and easy integration with back-end systems ensure customers can maximise previous technology investments. The solution also features an active document previewer that allows the user to visualise the final job on screen before it has been printed. Its basic configuration offers the ability to upload files that are generated at a print buyer’s location, select items from a print-on-demand catalogue where basic personalisation can be introduced and order non-print related products. Each site has a unique URL which reflects the print service provider’s brand identity and can support unlimited numbers of product catalogues per print buyer.

The Business Driver programme is an exclusive package of business development services for Ricoh production printing customers in the commercial and corporate sectors. It includes an extranet which provides unique access to web-to-print services, white papers, e-learning, consulting services and Ricoh Professional Services . The content has been developed to provide practical insights and guidance that print service providers can harness as a key part of their business development strategy.

Ricoh customers in commercial and corporate printing environments who register for the Business Driver programme will gain access to a range of services and information that meets the specific needs of their type of operation. Information is relevant to different types of job functions; for example, business owner, senior manager, marketing, operations and design professional and the extranet is being made available in several languages.
