New Print Controller Models of Color 1000 Press / Color 800 Press Enhance Color TransPromo
Wednesday 01. September 2010 - Mission-Critical Printing in Color Fosters Marketing Communications
uji Xerox Co., Ltd. is adding FreeFlow Print Server models to its color on-demand publishing systems, Color 1000 Press / Color 800 Press, which were released in January 2010. The new models will be available from September 17, 2010. The new models help businesses enhance their TransPromo (transaction-promotional) with following features.
High reliability to support TransPromo in color
The FreeFlow Print Server, with a track record in production printing, assures high reliability and the advanced failsafe features required in printing from mission-critical systems. The Server offers a backup feature whereby queued printing jobs are automatically transferred to another printer in the event of a printer failure, as well as a print log management to keep track of operation history and prevent printing errors from going unnoticed. In addition, optional features include an uninterruptible power-supply unit, which can supply power to the print server for a certain length of time in the event of an unexpected power outage or other power failure allowing the server a normal shut-down, as well as an operator call lamp which immediately alerts the operator to errors in any part of the printer system by a lamp and buzzer. These features provide reliable support for mission-critical printing operations.
Enhanced software linkage accelerates color TransPromo
The FreeFlow Variable Information Suite is a software package to help create and print personalized transaction statements, bills and other documents with variable text and images, according to customers’ interests. Enhanced linkage with this software enables a caching function, where image data used repeatedly is retained in the print server, thereby reducing processing time for the image. This contributes to increased efficiency in mass-printing operations. Another software linked to the publishing systems is OpenGate, which enables building a flexible printing environment with wide range of mission-critical system, from mainframes to servers. Such linkage can realize an optimal color TransPromo printing environment corresponding to a diverse range of enterprise systems.
TransPromo is an effective marketing communication technique that increases the chance of promotional information catching the eye of customers. It aims to improve customer satisfaction and generate purchases by printing personalized promotional advertising and sales campaign information on documents including transaction statements, bills and other printed matters, which the customer is certain to look at.
Interest in enhancing communication through TransPromo is particularly high in the financial, insurance, securities, and telecommunications industries that regularly send transaction statements and bills to customers who they increasingly need to maintain and strengthen relations with.
Printing these transaction statements and bills from mission-critical systems requires high reliability to guarantee efficient processing of the huge amount of printed materials that carry customers’ personal and transactional information. At the same time, while TransPromo messages have been traditionally mostly printed in black-and-white, today there is more demand for photographs and other visual elements to be in color, so that it will have a stronger appeal to customers. In light of this, businesses are looking for digital color printing capabilities offering greater image quality and resolution.
Fuji Xerox continues to enhance its product line-up as a pioneer in production printing, helping its customers grow their businesses.
