Friday 13. August 2010 - X-Rite Color Services to provide wide range of training services: webinars, classroom training, and custom onsite visits to software licensees using recently released ONYX version X10 production RIP products

X-Rite Color Services, a department within X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ: XRIT), today announced that it has partnered with ONYX Graphics, Inc., to provide a wide range of training services for users of ONYX GraphicsÂ’ new version X10 production RIP products, which are used throughout the world to efficiently process creative design content and drive a number of wide-format printers for a variety of display graphics applications.

As part of the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of color measurement systems, X-Rite Color Services has a team of Color Experts and an acclaimed network of professionals who have particular experience in teaching advanced concepts in digital printing. Salt Lake City-based ONYX Graphics has developed a suite of software packages that helps commercial printers to use raster image processor (RIP) files and other formats to simplify everyday printing tasks.

“We are very excited to bring our partnership with ONYX Graphics to a whole new level,” said Murphy Keeley, Vice President of Services at X-Rite. “We expect our outstanding new ONYX training programs to benefit customers of both companies by maximizing their return on the extensive X10 RIP software capabilities and learning about best-in-class color managed workflows.”

ONYX Graphics recently released version X10 of its production RIP products including ONYX ProductionHouse, ONYX PosterShop, and ONYX RipCenter — to dramatically simplify everyday printing tasks by giving print shops greater control over their workflow. Users now enjoy significantly fewer steps for creating profiles with ONYX version X10 RIP products. With its new, highly automated color profiling system and easy-to-follow guide, users can build media profiles in minutes instead of hours.

“ONYX Graphics and X-Rite both enjoy well deserved reputations in the large format printing industry for providing innovative, market leading products and services,” said Elena Newton, Director of Global Services at ONYX Graphics. “Our goal is to help ensure that our customers get the most out of their investment in printers and software. Training plays a critical role in helping print operators to maximize their efficiency, ensure the highest output quality, and maintain profitability.”

Among a number of advanced features, the new ONYX version X10 software makes it easy to:

Store parameters for print-and-cut jobs
Handle files and reproduction of images from Macintosh and PC-based applications reliably
Use 16-bit processing technology and the new PANTONE PLUS SERIES spot color matching system for wide format output
