Vital Printing Slips into Higher Gear with Suprasetter A75 Install

Wednesday 04. August 2010 - Vital Printing Corporation, a high-quality general commercial printer in West Palm Beach, Fla. has installed a Suprasetter A75 automated top-loading CtP device with Prinect Prepress Manager workflow.

The new platesetter, which replaces the company’s existing violet Prosetter, uses Heidelberg Saphira Chemfree thermal plates, runs unattended and has yielded noticeable improvements in speed and quality on press. According to prepress coordinator Ron Ross, “There’s no more manual feeding, roll-up is quick and easy, and our pressmen have very few issues getting color and water up on press.”

“Awesome” is the word Ross uses to describe Heidelberg’s Prinect Prepress Manager workflow. The new workflow enables central control of all prepress work steps with transfer of presetting data to Vital’s pressroom, which is home to a 4-color Printmaster 74 perfector and two Printmaster QM 46-2s. In addition to Saphira Chemfree plates, the company also uses a variety of pressroom consumables, including fountain foils, blanket wash rolls and assorted accessories for the QM46 presses. Vital’s bindery hosts a number of 20×28″ Stahlfolders and a 42″ POLAR guillotine cutter with jogger, three stacklifts, two VSAs, high-speed hydraulic drilling capabilities and assorted banding equipment. Final finishing is complimented by Vital’s 30-bin collator/booklet maker and perfect bound book binder.

With 8 employees and serving a diverse regional customer base, Vital Printing has been in business since 1980. “We’re a small, nimble, tight-knit family group that works well together and gets the job done,” Ross said. Heidelberg quality is a linchpin of the company’s success, he added, and “service has been second-to-none.”
