RPC Oakham Pails are “A Good Egg” for Bumble Hole Foods
Thursday 15. July 2010 - Plastic pails manufactured by RPC Containers Oakham have been sourced by Bumble Hole Foods Ltd for the packaging of a range of egg products including liquid pasteurised eggs.
Bumble Hole Foods was founded in 1973, named after the name of the road – Bumble Hole Lane – where the site is located. The family-owned business has grown from a regional egg producer to become one of the UKs leading suppliers of egg-based products to the foodservice sector. Ongoing investment has enabled significant expansion in machinery, while the building of a new road into the site is set to enable further progress.
In parallel to this growth, Bumble Hole Foods depends on good quality food grade packaging to satisfy the requirements of its customers regarding presentation and tamper evidence. “We were also looking for a respected company which could provide us with documentation, specifications and food grade assurances required by our customers and our British Retail Consortium accreditation,” confirms Lynn Fellows, Technical Manager at Bumble Hole Foods.
It was for these reasons that 3 and 10 litre containers from RPC Oakham were selected to pack several of Bumble Hole Foods product lines. These include: Liquid Pasteurised Whole Egg, used in the manufacture of cakes, quiches and similar foods; Hard Boiled Eggs in citric or brine, required for scotch eggs and salads; and egg mayonnaise.
Pails are supplied in white with coloured lids to suit Bumble Hole Foods branding requirements.
“We have been associated with RPC for approximately a year and during that time have found the companys service and quality to be excellent,” adds Lynn Fellows. “RPC is also very helpful when new specifications and developments are required.”
