imageData Group Installs an HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press for High Productivity and Print Quality

Wednesday 14. July 2010 - HP today announced that imageData Group, based in Yorkshire, UK, has installed an HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press to reduce time-to-market for its customers' printed promotional and product materials, utilising the press's high-speed production capabilities.

A digital print service provider (PSP) since the 1980s, imageData Group has a wide customer-base within the retail, corporate and public service market sectors and provides these customers with short-run leaflets, product guides, ticketing and POS. The HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press has been installed in the company’s leading-edge 70,000 sq ft production facility in Howden, Yorkshire.

“imageData Group has experienced fantastic growth and success in recent years and, in order to continue to provide high-quality digital print and meet an increasing demand for our products and services, we decided to move to a larger production facility and equip it with the latest digital printing technology,” comments David Danforth, chief executive, imageData Group. “We chose a 7-colour HP Indigo 7000 for its high print speeds, run-length flexibility, variable data printing (VDP) and spot colour capabilities. All of these features are important to our business, but being able to produce more pages per minute can ensure we can meet shorter deadlines, enabling us to provide a more efficient, on-demand service that helps our customers to react quickly in response to competitor promotions.”

Reaching speeds of up to 120 A4 full-colour pages per minute, the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press has the ability to produce over 3.5 million colour pages per month, for high productivity and increased capacity.

“Being able to accurately reproduce colours is also critical, as we have to comply with customers’ brand guidelines,” continues Danforth. “The wide colour-gamut of the HP Indigo 7000 and HP Professional PANTONE emulation will enable us to provide consistently precise, high-quality print every time.

“The press’s low energy consumption and HP’s Planet Partner Recycling Programme is another important factor as it complies with imageData Group’s environmental policy(1). This is not only essential to us as a business looking to minimise its impact on the environment, but it is also crucial to us as a supplier, where print sourcing of environmentally-friendly solutions has become standard for clients.”
