The Champions League: Newspaper Color Quality Club 2010

Friday 09. July 2010 - manroland customers leading in printing and color quality

162 wanted to join, 109 newspapers succeeded: they are members in the International Newspaper Color Quality Club for the years 2010 till 2012. Something else is obvious: quality freaks cannot bypass manroland. 37 out of the 109 successful newspapers are printed on manroland presses. This makes the world market leader technology a first in the renowned WAN-IFRA club for high-quality newspaper products.

Apart from the 37 newspapers (see PDF) more than 40 printing locations featuring manroland printing systems fulfilled the quality norm, the Times of India was even decorated for three production sites. “We are proud that so many of our customers fulfilled the demanding conditions for the International Newspaper Color Quality Club,” says Paul Steidle, Executive Board Member Product Division Web Printing Systems at manroland. “Thanks to them we are holding this leading position. This is a confirmation for our future development work and it cheers us on.”

manroland quality: as international as the company and its customers
Publishing houses and printing companies that want to make their newspapers fit for the future are focusing on quality. It makes sure newspapers stay attractive for readers and advertising customers and enables a successful position within the media competition. Here manroland is a reliable, groundbreaking, and international partner: the global player is close to wherever newspapers are printed. The production locations of the new members in the International Newspaper Color Quality Club are demonstrating this: Germany and Ecuador are among them, Dubai and Slovenia, Italy and Finland, the USA and India. To join the club the competition participants had to print a test element and provide printing samples every month during a four months period. Reproduction and color printing quality were judged within rigid tolerances. Their commitment brings the newspapers not only the coveted club membership and an improved image with their readers and advertising customers: the WAN-IFRA also supports the participants in implementing the ISO standards for an optimized printing process. Of course the new club members are going to be honored, too: the award ceremony will take place in October at IFRA Expo in Hamburg.
