Burda Digital: Strong network

Thursday 08. July 2010 - CEO Paul-Bernhard Kallen has chosen Burda Digital to pool the group’s successful digital ventures with a focus on business-to-consumer activities from July on. These companies account for combined revenues of 670 million Euros, including Burda’s consolidated share of 380 million Euros. All in all, the Burda Digital shareholdings generated an average annual revenue growth of 30.7 per cent in the last decade. These figures make the new holding one of the leading European internet companies which is integrated into a media house.

The digital portfolio of Burda Digital has been expanded over the last ten years under the strategic management of today’s CEO Paul-Bernhard Kallen. “We want to grow further with Burda Digital and integrate new B2C business areas, also by making further acquisitions,” he states. At present, about 2,200 people work for the more than 40 companies and shareholdings combined under the umbrella of Burda Digital which is based on six pillars: Burda ConsumerTech Group, Tomorrow Focus AG, Xing, DLD, Burda Digital Entertainment and Burda Digital Ventures.



Burda ConsumerTech Group comprises not only the successful print and online brands of the CHIP family, but also the online shops Cyberport and Computeruniverse with total revenues of 265 million Euros. Tomorrow Focus AG, Germany’s second largest online marketing company, is a stock-listed internet media group with a comprehensive portfolio in the areas E-Commerce, Sales, Portal, Mobile and Technology. The subsidiaries Holidaycheck and EliteMediaNet are successful in the transaction business. With its 25 per cent stake, Burda is the largest shareholder of the stock-listed Xing AG and thus also active in the area of social business networks. Xing is the leading European offering with over eight million members. DLD hosts the international digital conference DLD and pools shareholdings in international companies such as Glam Media, one of the world’s leading digital marketing networks.

Burda Digital Entertainment comprises the areas Online Gaming and Mobile with the subsidiaries Burda:Ic (including Florensia, Alaplaya) and Burda Wireless (among them NowHere, Tuneclub). Burda Digital Ventures includes another 14 shareholdings, such as Gameduell, Suite 101, Zooplus and Avensio (Lumas).
