Staples, Inc. Appoints Steven Fund Senior Vice President of Global Brand Marketing
Thursday 01. July 2010 - Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) today announced the appointment of Steven Fund as senior vice president of global brand marketing, effective July 12. Fund will report to Mike Miles, Staples president and chief operating officer.
“Steve brings 20 years of world class brand management, marketing and advertising experience that will help further Staples recognition as the leading office products and services company,” said Miles. “With continued global growth, Steve will guide Staples’ efforts to reach businesses with our promise to make buying office products easy, while enhancing our reputation as one of the world’s premier brands.”
In this new position for the company, Fund will be responsible for the strategic, creative, operational and financial aspects of Staples’ brand marketing globally. He will oversee Staples’ integrated brand management and marketing communications, with responsibility for the company’s brand strategy, marketing, advertising and public and community relations across business units and markets worldwide.
Fund previously served as global marketing director at Procter & Gamble’s Gillette Global Business Unit where he was responsible for the Fusion and Mach3 brands. Prior to P&G, he was vice president of brand management at Lycos, Inc. overseeing all marketing worldwide. Up to that time he held various brand management leadership roles at Pepsi-Cola Company and worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He is a graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business.
