KEY INDUSTRY PLAYERS CONFIRMED AT SOUTH CHINA LABEL SHOW

Wednesday 16. June 2010 - The South China Label Show has this week announced that Omet, UPM Raflatac and Xeikon will all have a big presence at the upcoming show in October, continuing to confirm that this new show from the Labelexpo Global Series will be the biggest event for the label and product decoration industry in the region.

Omet have confirmed that they will be exhibiting at the South China Label Show, bringing with them working machinery to give live demonstrations to delegates during the three day show at the Jinhan Exhibition Centre in Guangdong. Marco Calcagni, Omet Sales Director said: “China remains a very important market for us and South China in itself is a very important and dynamic printing hub. After the success of Labelexpo Asia in Shanghai, we welcome the strategy of a show in the north one year and the south the next year”.

Having clearly recognized the enormous potential in the fast growing Chinese market, Xeikon have also confirmed its participation at the show with Filip Weymans, Xeikon Business Development Manager commenting: “We formed a partnership with United Printing at the end of 2009 to further our operations in China. Xeikon recognize the significance of Southern China with its high number of printers and converters. This event will be key to our developments.”

The South China Label Show also has support from Dow Corning, Ruain Donghai (Zhe Jiang Wei Gang Machinery Co Ltd), Dowell Printing and Zhongtian Hongda amongst many other companies.

A full conference program with industry experts will also feature at the show. Eight comprehensive sessions will run over the three days with the keynote presentation being delivered by confirmed exhibitor at the show, UPM Raflatac. Topics for the other sessions will include: digital technology developments, sustainability and the environment, the increased demand of flexo in China, global trends and the current position of the Chinese printing industry.

Two road shows will also run in the run up to the exhibition, on Wednesday 28 July in Beijing and Thursday 29 July in Guangzhou, to promote the show and hold discussions with our partner magazines and associations.

John Davy, Show Director for the South China Label Show said: “This is our second event in South China after our successful Label Summit in 2006 which was also held in Guangzhou. China remains a key emerging market and its huge geography and high population have meant that the market has called for alternating events, one year in the north (Shanghai) and the next year in the South (Guangzhou). The event will provide a recognized platform for sales and new leads whilst the high level conference will offer up to date information, education and the opportunity to share ideas within this exciting industry.”

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo Managing Director added: “We believe in developing the labeling industry and growing it globally. The South China Label Show is one of the events that is key to this strategy and reflects our commitment to this important market.”
