X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ: XRIT), the world leader in color management, measurement and communication technologies, and Canon Europe, the world leader in imaging solutions, today announced a new version of the i1Process Control software (v3) for Canon imagePRESS digital presses, including the new imagePRESS C7010VP. Developed exclusively for Canon by X-Rite, i1Process Control v3 provides imagePRESS customers with seamless, integrated control over their color print production output and features a host of enhancements including iterative profiling, new ISO verification features, as well as new interoperability and workflow enhancements. X-Rite i1Process Control v3 will be shown for the first time at IPEX from 18 – 25 May in Birmingham NEC, UK on X-Rites stand 10-D260, Canons stand 10-CDEF270, and OCE´s stand 12-150B.
With i1Process Control v3, Canon imagePRESS customers will now have access to X-Rites i1Prism engine with iterative profiling capability and spot color optimization features to build highly accurate printer profiles. For the first time, users will also be able to share measurement data with other X-Rite applications and hardware in their workflows.
i1Process Control v3 now also offers CMYK printer profiling, as well as advanced display profiling, when used with the bundled award-winning i1Pro spectrophotometer. Thanks to the new integration features, i1Process Control users will be able to print test charts on their Canon imagePRESS, and streamline their workflow using X-Rites i1iO and i1iSis automated chart readers.
New verification and validation features will allow users to verify their output against ISO 12647-7 targets, or save their measurement data to use as a custom reference target for process control proof for their customers.
The new Profile Viewer in i1Process Control v3 will give users the ability to perform measurement and gamut analysis, using a new improved user-friendly software interface. i1Process Control v3 will include the new PANTONE PLUS SERIES digital library, in addition to the previously-available PANTONE Goe digital library for direct spot color verification.
“We developed i1Process Control software specifically for Canon imagePRESS digital presses, to provide complete harmony between the print engine and color tools. With i1Process Control v3 imagePRESS digital press users can deliver exceptional quality thanks to a digital color printing and proofing engine that integrates easily into their existing production processes,” Chris Halford, product manager for i1Process Control at X-Rite.
“Our ultimate goal is to help our customers improve their production processes, by providing them with solutions that allow them to produce consistent color and extremely reliable digital proofs that exceed what modern print buyers expect and demand. The combination of our imagePRESS technology and the latest version of i1Process Control will help production print businesses maximize their color workflows and will offer reassurance to traditional offset users who are migrating to a digital workflow,” says Ben Coles-Porter, European Marketing Professional, Canon Europe.
i1Process Control v3 for Canon imagePRESS will be available in July 2010 through all of Canons sales channels.
