Vive La Différence as French Company Chooses Thor
Tuesday 08. June 2010 - French food manufacturer Marco Polo Foods has selected RPC Containers Blackburns renowned Thor Pot to provide style and convenience for a new accompaniment to its Yedo Sushi brand.
Already the No. 1 manufacturer of sushi in France, Yedo Sushi has recently been expanded with a range of items that are traditionally served with Japanese meals. One of the new launches is Miso soup, which combines a stock made from flaked bonito with soya paste, tofu and wakame seaweed.
The company wanted a packaging format for the Miso soup that would be easy to open and microwaveable for consumer convenience. At the same time, it was important to reflect the premium nature of the brand with an eye-catching appearance different from anything else on supermarket shelves.
The microwaveable Thor Pot is RPC Blackburns market-leading solution in tamper evident food pots, whose proven functional benefits are matched by strong aesthetics. Injection moulded in polypropylene, the Thors robust, shatterproof design and wide opening ensures safe, convenient handling for consumers. A tamper-evident tab delivers product security while the snug fitting, resealable lid maintains product freshness after opening.
RPC Blackburn has provided the Thor Pot in a stylish black colour that provides a striking visual contrast to the brightly coloured labels used by Yedo Sushi.
“The Thor Pot is a rare concept in France and so provides a significant point of difference to other products,” explains Géraldine Cadier, Yedo Sushi Product Manager at Marco Polo Foods. “The labelled pack looks good while delivering a range of functional benefits, and RPC Blackburn has been extremely responsive to our needs.”
