The Portuguese group Cofina sets up a classified advertisements portal for its two main newspapers

Wednesday 02. June 2010 - Called Classificados CM, it is based on Protecmedia solutions

The Portuguese group Cofina has set up a classifieds advertisements portal for its two main newspapers, Correio da Manhã and Record, called Classificados CM (www.classificadoscm.pt), with a view to modernizing and profiting more from its classified ads service, integrating this advertising module, traditionally linked to print editions, into the world of Internet, which makes it possible for newspapers to reactivate this business line.

The portal is divided into five sections which aim to group together the different subjects that generally exist with this type of ads. Thus, one section is dedicated to the real estate sector, another to automobiles, and a third to employment, while of the remaining two, one is for personal relations and the other is a catch-all category for ads that fall outside the other four sections.

The portal works in two ways. First, anybody may look for the ads that interest him through a series of filters that refine the search. Having found the ad in question, the user can access the contact details of the advertiser in a simple and intuitive manner.

Second, there is the part where users can place their ads, there being a choice between three pay modules, which includes both publication online and in the print edition. Subsequently, the page will guide the user in a rapid and easy manner through three further phases, before final payment is made and the ad in question is published.

In short, the portal brings together advertisers and the public, as well as allowing Cofina to profit, in the most effective manner, from its classified ads service.
