Domino Demonstrates Full Product to Pallet Coding Solutions at Total Exhibition

Tuesday 01. June 2010 - Underscoring its ability to fulfil the varied and demanding product identification requirements of manufacturers, Domino UK Ltd (stand no. 5615) is displaying an impressive showcase of complete product to pallet coding solutions at this year’s Total Exhibition.

Domino’s product line up is spearheaded by its new V400 high-speed, multi-lane thermal transfer printer (TTO) for flexible packaging applications, as well as the G-Series of thermal ink jet (TIJ) printers, which offer manufacturers new benefits in primary and secondary applications.

As the latest addition to its V-Series range, Domino’s V400 traversing thermal transfer printer has been designed for easy installation onto thermoforming and tray sealing machines and fulfils wide-area print requirements on intermittent, multi-lane applications. Available with a choice of 2″ (53mm) or 5″ (128mm) printheads, the versatile V400 offers clean, durable and low maintenance thermal transfer overprinting, making it ideal for food printing applications.

Delivering a print resolution of 300dpi, the V400 applies precise, high quality variable data including text, bar codes, Data Matrix and logos, at speeds up to 800 mm/sec – making it compatible with the fastest production lines. Easy to retrofit, the V400 also features Domino’s patented ribbon economy system, which enables manufacturers to save up to 60% on ribbon usage without reducing print resolution.

Alongside the V400, Domino’s G-Series offers a broader use and application of TIJ products in specific market areas, foremost of which is the pharmaceutical sector. Importantly, the G-Series delivers improved quality and high speed printing onto an expanding and diverse array of substrates, thanks to impressive 600 dpi resolution and speeds of up to 300m/min. Domino’s multi-substrate, fast-drying inks expand the range of compatible print materials and application possibilities, while the ability to print onto porous and non-porous materials sets the G-Series apart from other TIJ solutions, which are typically restricted to slower-drying, water-based options.

The combination of attributes delivered by the G-Series affords specific advantages to those manufacturers seeking to print 2D bar codes and other machine readable formats in order to fulfil track and trace requirements. In addition, via its intelligent printhead, the G-Series aids manufacturers in the fight against counterfeiting, thanks to the ability to employ strategies such as mass serialization and unique numbering.

Domino is also using the Total Exhibition to demonstrate its best-selling A-Series range of continuous ink jet (CIJ) printers. The recently enhanced A-Series plus Duo offers even greater benefits to manufacturers in Domino’s mainstream CIJ markets, such as the food and beverage sectors, as it meets industry needs for improved print performance and additional lines of data beyond standard date/batch codes. This is achieved by printing double the amount of lines at the same speed, without compromising production line speeds or throughput levels.

As the curtain rises on the Total Exhibition, Domino is nearing the close of IPEX (NEC, 18th- 25th May), where the company is demonstrating its ability to provide a wide range of commercial printing technologies to the converting and label sectors. At IPEX, Domino is signalling its entry into the full-colour digital printing market as it unveils its new N-Series piezo ink jet range; while the new K600 single colour piezo ink jet system, is also receiving its global premier at the show.
