Océ hails Ipex a great success story
Monday 31. May 2010 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, has hailed Ipex a resounding success with numerous new deals signed on the stand and more interest from customers and prospects than in the last two years.
As well as gathering to witness Océs technology in action in Hall 12 of the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, United Kingdom, between May 18 – 25, crowds were entertained by a series industry affairs discussions on Océ TV, hosted by broadcaster Katy Haswell. Interviews were held with key stakeholders ranging from industry leaders, customers, journalists and analysts, as well as experts from Océ. Other successes for Océ included winning a European Digital Press Award (best production cut-sheet monochrome printer) for the Oce VarioPrint 6320 Ultra and launching on its stand a Managers Toolkit 40-page book for the British Print Industries Federation. Océ also announced that it is looking to extend its unique offering to the market where customers enjoy benefits from the printing worlds first Carbon Positive Plus+ initiative. Making a positive step beyond carbon neutrality, through strategic partner Shining Earth, Océ offsets 200% of the operational CO2 for its flagship product, the Océ VarioPrint 6250.

Orders signed on the stand included The Woods Group (Océ VarioStream 7650), MPG Books group (two Océ VarioPrint 6320s), Business Continuity (two Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex) The Open University (Océ VarioPrint 6000), Mask Documents (Océ VarioPrint 6000), OTM (Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex) and TJ International (Automatic Book Factory – software solution). Tony Chard, Managing Director of UK-based MPG Books, said: “The reason we chose Océ is because it is the clear market leader, has the highest quality and most productive systems for digital book printing, as well as the best total cost of ownership. Added to that, we will have up to a 40% reduction in our total electricity costs due to the environmental benefits that include substantially lower temperature levels for the systems.”
