SGIA Announces Sustainability Conference

Thursday 27. May 2010 - Learn how to implement sustainability practices into your printing facility

SGIA is presenting the Journey to Sustainability – Beyond Paper and Packaging Conference (Waukesha, Wisconsin; June 22, 2010) in cooperation with Printing Industries of Wisconsin, Flexographic Technical Association and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

The one-day conference opens with a presentation by Mark McDermid, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He will focus on how DNR is seeking ways to bring sustainability into a more clear and precise view, and will discuss how the printing industry relates to:
-Five elements of sustainability identified by the industry as needing government attention.
-Printing industry reactions to tools and approaches that have been used for sustainability.
-Printing industry needs and expectations for sustainability work.

The conference also features in-depth educational sessions through the day that target key issues about incorporating sustainable practices into your specialty imaging business. Presentations include: Corporate Sustainability Strategies, Energy Efficiencies as well as a panel session featuring industry peers discussing how they integrated sustainability into their printing operation.

During the networking Roundtable Luncheon, attendees will have the opportunity to talk about essential sustainability topics, such as:
