Kodak and Frank Romano Collaborate to Address “The Future of Print in the 21st Century”
Tuesday 25. May 2010 - Ipex visitors invited to hear Romano speak and receive an autographed copy of his book
The latest book by print industry expert and educator Frank Romano, “The Future of Print in the 21st Century,” will debut at Kodaks Ipex stand, 09-E320. The book was produced exclusively using a range of KODAK Solutions, from the all-new KODAK PROSPER Press Platform and KODAK NEXPRESS SE Digital Production Color Press to the KODAK VERSAMARK VL Series Printing System, KODAK DIGIMASTER Digital Production System, and new KODAK TRILLIAN SP Plates, all driven by the KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System.
Romano, whose career in the printing and publishing industries has spanned 50 years, will appear for two special sessions in the K-Zone at Kodaks Ipex stand. At 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 20, Romano will be interviewed by Jo Francis, Associate Editor of Printweek to discuss the current status of the print industry; how new technologies are changing how print is regarded, produced and used; and why he thinks print is as vibrant and meaningful today as ever.
Ipex visitors are invited to attend either of Romanos K-Zone sessions, meet the author, and receive a complimentary signed copy of the new book. The book provides an engaging history of print, the media and advertising industries that have been shaped by it, and the new technologies that are changing all the rules.
“The printing industry is so exciting because it is constantly changing,” noted Romano. “Its changed more in the last 20 years than in the previous 600 years. We are very fortunate to be part of this industry and witness the digital transformation that is taking place today.”
KODAK Solutions are used in a third of all books printed worldwide, and every page in Romanos new book was printed with KODAK Technology. The book demonstrates the range of Kodaks inkjet, offset, and toner printing technologies, giving readers a chance to compare technologies side by side to see how offset class quality is delivered across the entire KODAK Product portfolio.
“The printing industry is in the midst of significant change, but it is still about producing products that educate, inform, persuade, engage and entertain people,” said Chris Payne, Director and Vice President, Business to Business Marketing, Kodak. “We are privileged to have this opportunity to work with Frank and use the powerful portfolio of KODAK Solutions to make his book available to Ipex attendees.”
