Fuji Xerox Sustainability Report Receives Gold Award in Sustainability Reporting Awards in 2010, Sponsored by Toyo Keizai, Inc.
Tuesday 18. May 2010 - Fuji Xerox Co. Ltd. announces that the company's Sustainability Report 2009, issued in August 2009, has received the Gold Award in the Sustainability Reporting Award of the Green Reporting Awards, Sustainability Reporting Awards in 2010, sponsored by Toyo Keizai, Inc.
The award was presented in recognition of the Report’s substantial disclosure of social information; reporting on the company’s attitude in addressing challenges such as setting up target figures for each issue, and the thorough implementation of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle for the issues; and for its detailed report on group-wide human resource development and social contribution to local communities, not only in Japan but also abroad.
The theme of the Sustainability Report 2009 is Hand in Hand with Society, featuring consulting activities to form an organization where employees can work lively, the Integrated Recycling System in China that started operations in 2008, and housing support in deprived areas in the Philippines. The three feature stories report on the efforts by Fuji Xerox staff members in Japan and other countries in facing local social issues as well as their work aiming to create a sustainable society.
The Report also covers a dialog between Ms. Sadako Ogata, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Fuji Xerox top executives, who learn from the discussion about how to promote a global management rooted in local communities. Another highlight of the report is a suggestion from Fuji Xerox for making a social contribution through business, pointing to its own activity to produce large-font textbooks for children with visual impairments.
