Atlantic Zeiser to Showcase Innovations for Industrial Digital Printing 2.0 (IDP 2.0) at Ipex

Tuesday 18. May 2010 - Company to premiere 11 technology modules and integrated end-to-end system solutions for industrial digital variable data printing of packaging, labels and three-dimensional products

Atlantic Zeiser, a leading provider of technology modules and integrated end-to-end system solutions for high-resolution, industrial variable digital printing, is to present at Ipex a raft of global innovations for the packaging, labelling, paper and card sectors, as well as system integrators. The company can be found in Hall 6, Stand C557. Ipex 2010 is being staged in Birmingham, England, and runs from 18 – 25 May.

Five new high-resolution, substrate-flexible, single-pass print engines:

§ Two new DELTA 210 models for water-based and UV inks. There are six DELTA models in total.

§ The new OMEGA 70P has been specially developed for printing with white printing ink and is the eighth OMEGA model in this family of printers.

§ Two new GAMMA 140 models for full-colour printing. Four GAMMA models are available in total.

Three new integrated end-to-end DIGILINE Web and DIGILINE Sheet system solutions:

§ The new DIGILINE Web 280, with an integrated DELTA 210 for water-based A4 transaction printing for mailshots.

§ The new DIGILINE Web 280, with an integrated DELTA 105i UV for substrate-independent, individually adapted label customization, based on different 3M foils.

§ The new DIGILINE Sheet 300, with two integrated DELTA 105i, as an application for sheet-fed printing, as well as PDF/VTx Workflow for the security printing of documents and tax banderols.

Other new components include:

§ The new Atlantic Zeiser MiniController, which controls all the production and information components for transport, printing, verification and the data workflow.

§ Water-based and UV inks by Atlantic Zeiser and powered by Triton, specially designed for different substrates.

§ A new UV dryer module to round off the SMARTCURE range, as well as an air-cooled FREEZECURE unit, specially for pinning.

§ The new SecurePIN Module on the CARDLINE VERSA end-to-end system solution for the application of Rubbel fields with colour overprinting as an alternative for classic multi-voucher solutions.

§ AZ Software packages for PDF/VT Workflow Management, Print-on-Demand Server POD, Bitmap Library and Print Engine Control & Layout Software.

The Atlantic Zeiser Group is a leading supplier of print technologies and end-to-end system solutions for industrial digital printing. It will present its biggest exhibition programme alongside new innovations at IPEX in Hall 6 at Stand C557. The company will exhibit its entire range of integration modules and technologies for the industrial digital printing process. This includes DoD inkjet printers, UV-LED dryers, a MiniController with supervision and test components (VERICAM), in-house developed inks and workflow-software packages.

In 2009, Atlantic Zeiser began developing a wide range of supplements for its product line. IPEX offers the company the opportunity to show its entire range in one location to producers and integrators in the packaging, labelling and card markets, and those in industrial product labelling and job printing. Visitors to the Atlantic Zeiser stand will discover how they can increase productivity and cost efficiencies, add market value, and improve the security and the quality of their products.

‘For Atlantic Zeiser trade fairs such as IPEX are very important because they give us a chance to see how our solutions meet our customers’ needs,” says Ralf Hipp, Vice President of Digital Printing & Coding Solutions. “This helps us develop new ideas that help customers overcome the challenges they face.”

The IPEX programme includes:

DIGILINE Web and DIGILINE Sheet end-to-end system solutions

Optimum results are achieved when components integrate successfully to complete the task at hand. Such integration is the strength of the DIGILINE end-to-end system solution. Atlantic Zeiser integrates the appropriate modules from the wide range of individual components for printing, drying, control and monitoring of the printing process into a complete system solution. The solutions are different depending on the demands of the products and applications being printed. A suitable off-the-shelf configuration meets the desired customer requirement depending on the application. The DIGILINE Web, DIGILINE Sheet and DIGILINE Single Product solutions are available after Ipex.

DELTA printer family with two new models

Within the Atlantic Zeiser product portfolio, this new generation of high-speed printers, with six different models, is replacing the much loved ALPHA series and generally is a solution for older binary technology.

DELTA print engines can use water-based or UV models, and use the high-value, specially adapted Atlantic Zeiser inks in connection with a new PC-supported active ink supply. The DELTA models offer a print width of 105 mm – 210 mm, and a droplet size that can be changed in five stages. This means ink consumption efficiency is guaranteed. Several printing heads in an integrated system solution also increase the flexibility and variety of applications. These water-based printing inks represent an environmentally friendly alternative to solution-based inkjet printing. For consumers and producers of printing products, ‘kindness to the environment’ is now a key purchasing criterion. DELTA printers achieve a quality comparable with offset printing on multiple substrates at a resolution of up to 600 dpi and a speed of up to 300 m/min.

GAMMA printer family with two new models

The Atlantic Zeiser full-colour UV printer from the GAMMA series is also on show at Ipex. The GAMMA single-pass printers are available in four models with a printing width from 70 mm to 140 mm. The premium models are equipped with UV LED pinning to guarantee extra-sharp pictures without a bleed. This technology is ideal for the late-stage personalisation of labels, packaging and three-dimensional products.

OMEGA printer family now with UV setting white ink

Due to their versatility, OMEGA black and white printers have already set a standard for the sector. The OMEGA comes in eight different models. Independent of the print substrate, these versatile printers guarantee a reflection and readability of barcodes, graphics and texts. The high print resolution – from 360 x 360dpi up to 720 x 720dpi at a printing width of 36 mm to 210 mm, depending on the printing speed – also facilitates the personalisation of preprints on dark backgrounds. This makes it possible to achieve a consistently high quality, which can hardly be distinguished throughout overprinting from the original preprint. The spectrum of print materials ranges from coated paper and cardboard to plastic, metal, foil and even glass. The printers are ideally suited to integration in existing production units.

The Omega 70P, which was developed for printing with white ink on different materials, will be on show at Ipex.

CARDLINE VERSA – Card personalisation with the new SecurePIN module

The SecurePIN module for a multi-voucher-ticket Rubble fields application with colour overprinting in the inkjet combines high security and low costs for consumables with excellent flexibility of the CARDLINE VERSA system. This affords users key business benefits in this highly competitive and cost-conscious market.

In addition to the SecurePIN module, the CARDLINE VERSA system contains two new DoD HD-Inkjet OMEGA 36i print modules with 360×360 dpi, the UV LED-SMARTCURE drying units and the new VeriCam camera monitoring system.
