New Appointments at Domino Strengthen Product Management and Market Sector Focus

Friday 14. May 2010 - In line with its strategic objective to secure continued growth, Domino has announced three new additions to its senior team, each of whom bolsters the company’s renowned industry expertise while maximising opportunities within its major market sectors.

Alan Mutch and Peter Lister join Domino’s Cambridge-headquartered operations as Product Managers for thermal ink jet (TIJ) and secondary coding respectively, while Jon Pritchard has been appointed Digital Printing Market Sector Manager.

Joining the leading provider of total coding and printing technologies from Weidmuller Limited, where he was Sales and Applications Manager, Alan Mutch will assume responsibility for Domino’s versatile range of TIJ solutions, including its flagship G-Series. In particular, Alan’s remit will include developing and implementing strategies to grow the TIJ business in parallel with market opportunities. “My primary aim is to deliver class-leading customer focused products whose specific features deliver the appropriate functionality to respond to changing market needs,” he explains.

“This is an exciting opportunity, given the continual demand from Domino’s market sectors for increasingly innovative product solutions, and I look forward to ensuring we maintain our ability to satisfy such needs with a robust, future proof product portfolio,” he adds.

Similarly, Peter Lister will hit the ground running having rejoined Domino with an invaluable twelve years’ previous experience gained in various sales support/marketing roles within the company. As Product Manager for Secondary Coding, Peter’s role will see him take charge of both the technical and commercial management of Domino’s M-Series range of print and apply labellers, as well as the C-Series, Macrojet and CaseCoder large character ink jet printers. As such, Peter will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s sales channels are properly supported in their drive to meet the demanding needs of manufacturers.

According to Peter, his main objectives will be to remain equally responsive to the wide variety of requirements from both the marketplace and ‘the factory’.

“I will be aiming to ensure that the products for which I am responsible are the products of choice in all relevant sectors, so they maintain Domino’s position ahead of the competition,” he explains. “I’m delighted to be rejoining the company, which is not only an established and respected industry supplier, but as the number of familiar faces bears testament to, also a great employer.”

Also joining Domino is Jon Pritchard, who brings a wealth of printing industry experience, including positions held in direct sales and product management, to his role as Digital Printing Market Sector Manager. The newly created position underlines Domino’s objective to sustain profitable growth by focusing on individual market sectors and aligning its broad product portfolio to exploit the full commercial printing application opportunities available. As a result, Jon’s role will see him drive targeted activity to ensure growth across the direct mailing, binding, print finishing and postal system sectors.

Jon joins from industrial ink jet printhead supplier, Xaar, where he was the account manager for Domino, a position that already grants him extensive knowledge of the marketplace and the growth potential of specific sectors, as well as a solid understanding of Domino’s versatile VDP solutions offering. “I’m fortunate to be well acquainted with the various technologies supplied by Domino – both at a sales and technical level,” he explains. “Naturally, I expect this experience to stand me in good stead when it comes to developing business and identifying new areas of opportunity.”

“Strengthening our team with high calibre individuals that possess the drive and appropriate skill sets is central to the Domino philosophy,” says Garry Havens, Managing Director at Domino. “We are delighted to welcome Alan, Peter and Jon and are certain that their collective expertise will make a tangible contribution to our objectives of growing our business by continuing to deliver the high quality products and services our customers expect.”
