ECRM TO FEATURE NEW MAKO 800 AND WORKMATES PRODUCTS AT IPEX 2010
Tuesday 11. May 2010 - ECRM today announced they will spotlight the new ECRM MAKO 800 at the upcoming IPEX 2010 (NEC Birmingham UK, May 18-25). The MAKO 800 is an 8-up platesetter with dramatically enhanced optics. The new optics eliminate previously perceived quality gaps when comparing Violet and Thermal CTP imaging. ECRM also announced the demonstrations of their new workflow products WorkMates 4.0 and RIPmate Plus. The company will be exhibiting in Hall 11, Stand E230.
Enhanced Optics of New ECRM MAKO 800
The MAKO 800 offers all the benefits of the companys flatbed violet imaging technology with new ECRM patented enhanced imaging optics in an 8-up machine. The system incorporates the many advantages of ECRMs patented flatbed violet laser imaging technology, including lower total cost of ownership, greater reliability of lasers and imaging units, and superior energy efficiency. ECRM will also feature their MAKO 2X (2-up) and MAKO 4X (4-up) CTP.
Agfa :Azura V Chem-Free Plate Compatibility
ECRM is pleased to announce that their CTP systems are fully compatible with the recently announced :Azura V chemistry-free plate products from Agfa Graphics. ECRM believes that the combination of their high-quality imaging engines and the new violet plate products that are becoming increasingly available will be a very attractive solution for commercial printers worldwide.
ECRM WorkMates 4.0 at IPEX
ECRM will also showcase WorkMates 4.0, an entry-level workflow solution that greatly enhances the production capabilities of prepress operators. With WorkMates 4.0, users are provided more automated features such as remote job control, priorities, file archiving and deletion with custom definable workflow mapping for files, and greater access to job history information. Released earlier this year, IPEX will mark the first international showing of WorkMates 4.0.
“WorkMates is specifically engineered to help small to mid-sized commercial printers to simplify and automate standard production tasks,” notes ECRM Vice President Sales and Marketing, Doug Barr. “There isnt a more affordable workflow solution to address these basic prepress needs. What customers appreciate is that WorkMates is scalable. If a printer decides that they want stochastic screening or color critical ICC matched proofs, all they need to do is add a plug-in module. WorkMates simplifies digital prepress workflow issues and increases efficiency through significantly reduced prepress, make-ready, and production times.
RIPmate Plus
ECRM will also feature RIPmate Plus. Engineered to accelerate the productivity beyond that of a standalone RIP, RIPmate Plus contains software enhancements which enable the remote control of the RIPing process. Any network workstation with a web browser can now be used to view, roam, and zoom (in or out) on any part of the rasterized image for soft proofing, as well as hold, release or re-direct a job without going to the physical RIP station.
“For standalone RIP users, RIPmate Plus is a valuable productivity enhancement,” notes John Marzec, ECRM Director of Product Management. “While files can be sent to the RIP from all over the production facility, no one has to physically (and unproductively) be waiting at the RIP station for preview and job release. Once the file is RIPed, the production manager can check the rasterized file by roaming and zooming anywhere on the image [including traps]. And they can do this from any workstation with web and network access. This software can be invaluable as an enhancement to the workflow and quality assurance process of any print operation at a very attractive price point.”
