Océ launches easiest large format printer
Thursday 29. April 2010 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced the launch of the Océ CS2400 printer series. This fast, no-fuss A1 or A0 plotter is the easiest to operate in the very low volume market segment. Handling both CAD and GIS documents, it gives users the speed, quality, reliability and economy required in a range of wide format printing environments.
Quality and speed made easy
When users need large format prints, the Océ CS2400 printer series delivers. Available in 24-inch and 36-inch configurations, it prints a full-color A1 image in just 30 seconds in draft mode. This is the fastest print speed in this market segment. Print quality has not been sacrificed for speed though. The system has a print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and an interpolated resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi. With droplet sizes of 4 picoliters, it prints fine details and lines with razor-sharp clarity. Even in faster print modes, the machine prints area fills entirely free of banding. The Océ CS2400 printer series can also be upgraded with an integrated 1200 x 1200 scanner. The scanning unit sits on top of the printer so it saves on floor space. It also comes with Océ Copy Easy as standard so users can make high-quality copies and scans effortlessly.
Job submission made easy
By offering a number of easy job submission tools, the Océ CS2400 printer series integrates smoothly with different workflows in large format printing environments. Small and medium-sized architectural firms, manufacturers, construction companies and local government departments often print decentrally. Users in these environments can send jobs via a Windows-based printer driver.
For central printing at small reprographers and facility management sites, Océ Client Tools enables users to submit pre-proofed, print-ready jobs via the web. Optional Océ Repro Desk Studio delivers further viewing, printing and accounting functionality.
Print consistency made easy
More and more wide format documents use color details in CAD drawings or full color for GIS documents. With the Océ CS2400 printer series, producing high-quality color documents is childs play. Embedded Océ media profiles deliver great image quality every time. In addition, a wide range of Océ media gives users professional results from first print to last. In spite of rising demand for color, most large format documents are still printed in black & white. As a result, the system has two 130 ml pigmented black cartridges. These provide greater black & white capacity and print sharp lines and fine details on uncoated media.
Reliability and economy made easy
To help architects, engineers and designers meet ever tighter deadlines, the Océ CS2400 printer series is designed for maximum machine uptime. An ink sub-tank system enables users to replace ink cartridges while the printer is still running. The system is also economical to run. It consumes less ink than comparable printers. Furthermore, customers can replace the printhead themselves without having to call a service engineer. They will not need to do this frequently though, since the printhead lasts nearly two years on average. In addition, the system is ergonomically designed so it saves on valuable floorspace and is comfortable to use.
