Optimize and automate large format production with PrintFactory at Fespa!

Wednesday 28. April 2010 - Four Pees to showcase its large format automation and quality optimization solutions at Fespa 2010 - the number one show for global imaging and outdoor signage

Four Pees, the exclusive world-wide distributor of the PrintFactory solution for banner, sign and super wide format printing, will showcase the new PrintFactory v4 at Fespa 2010 from 22nd until the 26th of June  in Munich, Germany. As a complete application suite PrintFactory v4 deals with all the aspects of large format printing, from file intake and preparation down to final output. Four Pees will demonstrate how PrintFactory increases the productivity and the quality of large format production in hall B1, stand 567.

PrintFactory v4: Increased Productivity, Amazing Results
With the recently introduced version 4, PrintFactory introduces the concept of an all-encompassing job preparation and production workflow.
While PrintFactory v4 includes a RIP, it goes beyond just being a RIP offering a complete solution that covers all aspects of large format production, from file preparation to output and finishing.

The new PrintFactory WebFront offers print shop’s customers an online portal to deliver and review their files and its production specifications. With this new application print buyers can upload their files directly into the production workflow. They can specify the number of copies and delivery specifications and can review the tiling in an online editor. WebFront also enables them to select the media the job should be printed on, allowing customer service representatives to focus on getting new jobs rather than reviewing existing ones.

At Fespa 2010 Four Pees will be showing PrintFactory DFlux for the first time to the Large Format Printing market. PrintFactory DFlux is a new automation solution based on Enfocus and callas technologies that takes repetitive tasks out of the hands of the operator, increasing efficiency and reducing errors. DFlux provides a full production automation platform and an easy-to-use interface to automate any action, from file reception and routing, file standardization, PDF checking and correction, to file delivery or output. DFlux interacts with applications such as Adobe Creative Suite and supports automatic file standardization of a vast series of incoming file formats. This greatly reduces the amount of errors and file make-ready time.

The PrintFactory Production Editor is PrintFactory’s interactive job preparation tool. It offers the most advanced tiling available on the market, providing full control to come up with any type of tiling, defining white space in overlaps, bleed per panel, panel numbering and allows to save it as a template for fully automated tiling on jobs with the same tiling scheme. The Production Editor gives the operator the freedom to define where to print white ink or varnish from any object or on a whole job. In addition to that it gives full control in a print and contour cut workflow.

Also a FESPA 2010 first, is the PrintFactory Spectro LFP, a spectrophotometer to automatically measure color on any media: papers, vinyl, textiles, cardboards, plastic plates, gypsum plates, wood, glass, stone, ceramic plates and many more. Built on Barbieri technology, the PrintFactory Spectro LFP easily deals with thick and heavy materials up to 20mm. It measures spectral and Lab values for reflective as well as transparent media. The measuring aperture is adjustable to 2 or 6mm. Thanks to this flexible aperture surfaces will be optically averaged and therefore the right color impression determined.??

PrintFactory has also expanded its already extensive list of supported devices. As one of the first production suites in the market, it now drives all aspects of the Roland VersaUV LEC 300 and 330, which it will be demonstrating on the show. In contrast with regular production RIPs, the PrintFactory production suite sends one fully prepared file, embedding all white, varnish (gloss or matte), embossing and die-cut handling data, to the Roland printers. This vastly increases the productivity and accuracy of the printers, nicely showcasing the advantages of both the Roland VersaUV family and PrintFactory.
Additionally PrintFactory drives the new set of Canon devices, the Epson WT7900 and GS6000, HP FB 7500 and Designjet L25500, a series of Kongsberg cutting tables and more.
