Monday 26. April 2010 - Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned Adobe in the Leaders Quadrant of its 2009 “Magic Quadrant for Web Conferencing” research report. Adobe was one of 14 vendors evaluated for the report*. The rating criteria included product/service, overall viability, customer experience, market understanding, marketing strategy, product strategy and innovation.

Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is the company’s enterprise Web conferencing solution that enables live, interactive Web meetings, virtual classes, on-demand presentations and courses and group collaboration. It runs on Adobe Flash Player software, which unlike any other member of the Leaders Quadrant, is installed on more than 98 percent of Internet-enabled desktops. This allows easy access for participants even in lock-down environments or external-facing meetings, enabling organizations to effectively share a wide range of content, including slides, live and recorded video, Adobe Flash Player compatible content, live screen sharing, application sharing, audio and multiuser text chat. In addition, Connect Pro can help enterprises and government organizations meet demanding security and customization requirements with flexible deployment options.

“Across a variety of markets, customers are using Connect Pro to improve their collaboration, communication and distance learning, while benefiting from bottom-line cost savings,” said Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president and general manager of Adobe’s Business Productivity Business Unit. “Connect Pro is unique in the marketplace as it avoids the technology hurdles found in other Web conferencing solutions, while providing the richest online experience available for highly-dispersed workforces, business partners, customers and students. We’re delighted to be included in the Leaders Quadrant.”

Market demand for Web conferencing has increased due to a variety of benefits including reduced travel costs, increased knowledge sharing and improved team collaboration and training support. According to Gartner, “By 2011, Web conferencing will be available to 75 percent of corporate users as a standard facility, alongside e-mail, presence, calendaring, IM and other collaborative facilities.” Gartner states that, “Vendors in the Leaders quadrant have achieved significant market share while demonstrating their ability to respond to customers’ needs. Leaders have robust, scalable products with a wide range of features, a large installed base, acceptable financial performance and good distribution. Leaders do well today and are prepared for the future.”
