Xerox selected as Buying Solutions supplier to public sector
Friday 23. April 2010 - Framework agreement opens up £400m public sector spend opportunity
Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services, has selected Xerox to be one of the key printing and copier paper suppliers to the public sector.
Following a rigorous evaluation and selection process, Xerox is now one of eight suppliers awarded a place on the Supply of Printing and Copier Papers (Recycled and Virgin Fibre) framework agreement. The two year contract gives Xerox access to £400m worth of new business opportunities, the estimated total spend on paper by the public sector each year.
Doug Bishop, UK general manager, Xerox Office Supplies, commented, “We are delighted to qualify for the printing and copier papers framework. It further enhances Xerox’s commitment to provide UK public sector organisations with value-for-money services that support the Government’s drive for cost efficiency.
“Xerox helps to improve customer productivity and efficiency and is already adding value to a number of public sector customers. This new agreement opens up a whole new stream of business opportunities and will firmly cement our presence in this sector.”
Under the next generation framework agreement, Xerox will not only supply recycled paper to meet central government’s mandate on the use of recycled paper, but will offer virgin fibre papers that comply with the government’s timber policy. Xerox’s environmental accreditation, which enables its paper products to carry the recognised Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) logos, was fundamental in its selection on the framework.
