Muller Martini Intensifies Interaction with Customers in Morocco

Muller Martini has been presenting its latest innovations for (variable-size) web offset printing and finishing processes to its Moroccan customers at two different events in Casablanca. An information event held by local Muller Martini partner Redagraph addressed benefit-optimized production and added value, while the benefits of the AlphaLiner newspaper inserting system were the particular focus at the WAN/IFRA Afrique trade fair.

Over 50 Moroccan customers took up an invitation from Abdou Moukite, founder and owner of Redagraph, and his son Reda, who acts as the managing director, to come to the Hyatt Hotel in Casablanca to find out about the benefits of the latest Muller Martini technology ahead of the opening of the WAN/IFRA Afrique trade fair, which was to get underway in the same city the following day. Alois Hochstrasser, Director of Muller Martini Marketing AG, used the event to highlight the special importance of automation for finishing processes: “Alongside quick setup and job changeover times, an optimum stock workflow is also particularly important for cost-effective production when it comes to finishing processes. Automating production processes in printing houses and bookbinderies is an essential feature that helps to guarantee reliable and efficient production to excellent quality standards.”

First Primera Saddle Stitcher Sold in Morocco
Jules Dietz, the Muller Martini Sales Manager responsible for Africa, focused on benefit-optimized production and added value in his remarks: “By enhancing your saddle-stitched and perfect-bound printed products with inserts, cards, or special covers, you can utilize the potential of your clients in an even more effective manner.” The Moroccan printers and bookbinders were especially interested in Jules Dietz’s remarks about the versatile opportunities created by the variable-size VSOP web offset printing press and the SigmaLine digital book production system.

The presentations by the two Muller Martini representatives were followed by an enthusiastic discussion about printing and finishing processes. The event was topped off nicely by the conclusion of a sales contract for a Primera C110 between Muller Martini and Youssef Ajana, CEO at Imprimerie Idéale. The first model in Morocco from the new saddle stitcher generation will be operated in conjunction with a Bravo T, which was commissioned at Imprimerie Idéale in 2006.

Plenty of Interesting Discussions at WAN/IFRA Afrique
Muller Martini’s participation in the two-day WAN/IFRA Afrique trade fair was also a definite success. Several newspaper printers visited the Muller Martini stand to take advantage of the opportunity to experience for themselves the benefits of Muller Martini newspaper inserting systems in general; they were also able to gather more specific information about the flexible AlphaLiner inserting machine. “We had several interesting discussions with publishers and chief editors from a number of Francophone African countries,” says Jules Dietz

In addition to the information event and WAN/IFRA Afrique, at which his own company Redagraph also had a stand, for Abdou Moukite there was another highlight, the third within the space of just a few days: He was presented with the “Chevalier de Gutenberg-Maroc” [the Gutenberg award for services to the French language] at a special ceremony attended by the Moroccan information minister and government representative Khalid Naciri.
